Tentative Schedule

 

Stable Opens: Thurs., October 28th, 2:00 pm—No early arrivals on competition grounds.

Secretary’s Office Opens: Fri., Noon;

Course Walk and Briefings: Fri., 4:00 pm – (Meet in Community Building)

Presentation: On the Move during Dressage Test;

Dressage: Sat., 8:00 am;

Marathon: Sun., 9:00 am;

Cones: Sat., 30 Minutes Following Dressage Test;

 

Social Events:

 

Fri., 6:30 pm – Competitor’s Welcome Soup & Potluck Dinner Located in the Community Building

Sat., 5:30 pm – Social Hour in Community Building and at 6:30 pm Catered Dinner will begin serving followed by the CDE program and awards for dressage and cones. Fri. evening and all day Sat., a Silent Auction will be running, located in the Community Building.

Silent Auction will close at 6:30 pm, Sat.. Anyone wishing to donate items (do not have to be horse related) for the silent auction may turn their item(s) into the event office upon arrival. Sun., 7 am Cowboy Church, located in the Community Building.

 

Dressage

 

Test(s): Training Test 4; Preliminary Test 6: Intermediate Test 5; Tandem Entries to do appropriate ADS tandem test for level entered.
Ring/Warm-up area Footing: Grass/Grass
Other Dressage Info: All dressage tests held in a 40m x 80m ring including VSE. Tandem and 4-In-Hand will be held in 40m x 100m ring. Presentation will be on the move for all levels and vet check will be observed during the dressage test.

 

Marathon

 

Terrain: Tree lined trails, rolling hills, road crossings, bridge and culvert crossings, some gravel, dirt and possible water crossings; VSE per ADS rules.
Level: Training: 3 Sections; 9-10 km; 4-5 Obstacles
Level: Preliminary: 3 Sections; 11-13 km; 5-6 Obstacles
Level: Intermediate: 3 Sections; 13-16 km; 6-7 Obstacles
Other: VSE -- Will do full course according to level driven above.

 

Cones

 

Ring/Warm-up area Footing: Grass / Grass
Level: Training; Clearance: 40 cm; Notes: May be U/L, Zig-Zag and/ or Serpentine
Level: Preliminary: Clearance: 35 cm; Notes: May be U/L, Zig-Zag, Serpentine and Bridge Crossing
Level: Intermediate: Clearance: 30; Notes: May be U/L, Zig-Zag, Serpentine and Bridge Crossing

 

Other Information

 

Veterinary/Health Requirements: Negative Coggins within 1 year of show date and copy MUST be mailed with entry. All out of state horses/ ponies are required to have a 30-day veterinary health inspection certificate upon arrival to event. Papers must be presented to show management check-in upon arrival, prior to unloading of animals.
 

Stabling Information: Covered barn area with dirt floors and 10 x 10 portable stalls. No parking of trucks or trailers will be allowed in the fire lane on the east side of the stabling area. Unloading is permitted in this area if done in a timely manner. Parking in fire lanes is prohibited by the Expo and WILL be strictly enforced. Trailer & Camper Parking: Will be on a first come/first served basis. Those with large rigs, please contact show management prior to event or make a note on your entry what your parking requirements are.
 

Driver/Groom twice around allowed on marathon? (Article 917) Yes; Entry Requirements: Drivers/grooms may participate in Competition B (Marathon) more than once if scheduling permits. No horse/ pony allowed to participate more than once in Competition B. Drivers may compete with a second entry if scheduling permits.
 

Misc. Show info: Dogs MUST be leashed at all times. ALL horses/ponies must be stabled at night or taken offsite. Entry must include a copy of your ADS membership card, if a member. Safety helmets required per ADS rules.
 

Awards Offered: Ribbons to 6th place. Special awards given for ‘Best Of ’ for each division. Breed Awards pending. Anyone wishing to sponsor a breed award or a ‘special’ award, please contact Pat Werts or Deryn Stewart.
 

Food Available on the Grounds: Yes, Concessions will be on grounds for breakfast and lunch on Sat. and Sun. (7:00 am to 2:00 pm). Fri., October 29th, there will be an OHHA sponsored Soup Potluck dinner. Sat., October 30tht, there will be a catered dinner, silent auction and CDE program. Dinner tickets are by reservation and must be purchased in advance.
 

Accommodations: Host hotel is The Stillwater Convention Center (Used to be Best Western) 405-377-7010 – **Please be sure to mention OHHA Cowboy Country CDE when making reservations; Hampton Inn, 405-743-1306; Fairfield Inn, 405-372-6300; Motel 6, 405-624-0433 Holiday Inn, 405-372-0800; Days Inn, 405-743- 2570; Relax Inn, 405-743-2570; 51 Motel, 405-372-8408. Please keep in mind this may be an OSU sports weekend. Early/advanced reservations are highly recommended!!!
 

Camping On Grounds: Yes, Limited number of hook-ups available at $10 per night/per hook-up. Reservations need to be separate from entry with checks made out to: Payne County Expo Center.
 

Directions to Show: Payne County Expo/Fairgrounds Center is located 3 miles east of Stillwater on Hwy. 51; Located on the corner of Hwy. 51 and Fairgrounds road on the north side, just before the last stoplight out of the east edge of Stillwater; Is located approximately 16 miles east of I-35 on Hwy. 51.
