Classes and Divisions

Pony/VSE, Light Horse, Draft Horse

Classes and divisions will follow ADS guidelines

Arena Classes will be run consecutively in the order outlined below.  Outdoor obstacle classes will be available to be driven at 9:00am also.  Contestants may drive outdoor classes while waiting for their division in the arena. As an example, a Pony/VSE entry may drive one or more obstacle classes (#11,#12,#13) while waiting for their division in the arena since their first class is # 6. However, arena order takes priority.  Management will make every effort to keep drivers notified of arena classes being called but it is the responsibility of drivers to be aware of when their classes are being called to the arena.

 Other Information

Additional Class information will be added soon

Show photographer: Andrea Boody of Shooflyphotos will be the show photographer this year and has made a wonderful donation for the overall (all categories) High Point Award.  Andrea will be donating a individual photo shoot for the winning entry!!!  Her talent is envious and the winner is in for a special treat. She has to limit her travel to 50-75 miles but, other than that, it will be up to the winner how to use their hard earned prize. You could even get a montage of your pictures from the show if you live too far for her to come to your home. Go to her web site: www.shooflyphotos.com  to see some of her fabulous work for yourself.

Stalls will be available by Friday afternoon.  They will be available for contestants to stay in both Friday and Saturday nights. The cost is NOTHING!!! When you arrive please take the stalls on the far south aisle first and then the stalls on the far north aisle. Fill these stalls with horses first and use the more interior stalls for tack.  This is a request from the Payne County Fair management.  It really helps them with cleaning for the next group of horses.

The cost of classes will be $10/class or $40 for the entire day of classes.

The divisions will be based on ADS guidelines but to refresh your memory...

Pony is 14'2+" ( 149cm) and under

VSE is 39" or below at the wither

Horse is 14'2" and above....However if your horse falls into a breed where many of the horses in the breed are below 14'2" ( Arab, Morgan, Quarter, Haflinger etc.) you may choose to place your animal in the horse category rather than the pony.  It is totally up to the driver.

Draft is full or half draft .... However if you would prefer to show your half draft in the light horse division it is fine.  If you drive a Haflinger who is below 14'2+" you may show in pony or horse.  In addition, you may choose to show your Haflinger in the draft division. Friesians may show in the light horse division or the draft division.  These decisions are totally up to the driver.

Once you choose a division... the driver, equine, and vehicle are an entity and remain in that the division the entire show.  A change in any component requires a different show #

ADS guidelines will be followed with these exceptions:  long sleeves and jackets will be waived due to heat this time of year, Pneumatic tires are fine, wire spoked wheels are fine, any style or type of harness is acceptable so long as vehicle and harness are safe.  The judge has the right to dismiss any turnout which is unsafe or poses a hazard in any way.  Her decisions are final.

FYI even though the name of the show has 'fair' in it. This is the only event taking place that day at the Expo.  No midway, no rides, no camels, llamas, elephants, 5 headed monkeys, etc. just a fun, full of laughter, day of driving at a wonderful facility which just happens to be about the best bargain for drivers around!

Hope to see you there!  Any questions contact Becky Benjamin 1-918-283-0242 or email bruce@dishmail.net
